Castlebar Lake Lodge was founded in 1952 when the original owner received the property after his military service. Today, the lodge is family owned and operated. Located about 35 km. from Longlac, the lodge is the only camp on the Castlebar Lake, with access to Proctor Lake and other small nearby lakes. The lodge offers seasonal fishing and moose hunting, including accommodations and boat rentals.
Castlebar Lake Lodge is located about 39 km. east of Longlac, Ontario. That puts the lodge within a 12-hour drive from Toronto, Detroit, Minneapolis, or Green Bay, or within a 14-hour drive from Chicago or Cleveland.
Castlebar Lake Lodge is owned and operated by Curtis and Hillary Grigonis. Since his first hunting trip at age 16 -- where he shot a Pope And Young black bear -- Curtis Grigonis has been traveling to hunt and fish. He fed his passion with regular trips to fish Ontario, as well as Elk in Colorado, pheasant in Kansas, and bear in Maine, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. When he's not traveling to hunt and fish, he's fishing the Great Lakes with his dad, teaching his kids to hunt Whitetail, or finding pheasants with his dog. Today, he's helping families and friends make the same memories at Castlebar. Hillary is a writer and photographer with a longtime passion for the outdoors. She maintains the cabins as well as the website and online booking system.
The lodge is under new ownership! Now family owned and operated, we are expecting to make several improvements in 2024.
